trying double exposure in Photoshop. Quite fun.
So while doing my usual surfing in the Internet in relation to my online job, I came across an article that featured 25 most creative examples of doodle art. It ultimately reminded me of how I use to doodle a lot back in college especially if the class calls for the need for it a.k.a boring slide-reading-teacher. I don’t mean to disrespect any older adults (please, I have a steady personality, I fear defying teachers) but you know how students have wandering minds, right? Anyway, anyone who has ever borrowed my notebooks in nursing can attest how much I randomly doodle. I think my posts here and here can testify to that.
Believe me when I say that I am not good in drawing at all. I suck at it and I don’t think there would ever be a chance of me being an artist (not that I want to, or maybe my alter ego wants to). But with doodle art, I think I just might have a shot at it. I mean, it’s doodle, anyone can probably do it…right? 0_0
Anyway, I really thought the ones I found at the site were pretty cool so I thought I should share it to you, guys.

Pretty cool right? So, just to relive my college-doodle days, I made another one out of…well, the usual cause of doodle art, boredom. It’s not finished yet but I realized it’s actually a good way to de-stress.Will post it once it’s finished (actually, I’m just too lazy to edit the photo I’ve taken already).
Do you like to doodle too?

channel your artistic feelings,

A short vid I made for my sister’s 24th birthday. I wanted to try stop motion so I incorporated it in a way that I know. :)
Wow! Happy New Year everyone! It still feels surreal that 2012 has finally said its bitter-sweet goodbye. I’m pretty sure most of us will be going through the “wrong-year date” syndrome again, you know, that moment when you still write 2012 instead of 2013.
The first thing that I did when midnight came was whisper a prayer of thanksgiving to God for all the wonderful memories and blessing He has given to me and to my family. So, since today is page 1 of the 365 days, I thought I should make a year-ender report of my life:
Spring time may be long over but let’s face it, floral pants are still making a scene nowadays. I’m not quite sure though if it’s still rampant among fashion savvies, but floral pants are natural head-turners and eye-catchers that it’s impossible to immediately put them in the abyss of old clothes. They’re great alternative to the usual printed top-plain jeans combo. Why not the top be the plain while the pants scream the print?
The truth is, I’ve just recently (I know, I’m outdated like that) purchased myself a pair of nice floral pants for investment (and fashion) purposes but I found them too “powerful” to wear in a city where almost anybody will stare or secretly criticize you to death. It’ll take a whole lot of guts for me to wear them. Anyway, I thought I should just research how to style them so that I can wear them right and avert committing fashion suiss (my own shortcut of suicide) . I found a good number of inspirations and eventually ended up making my own in Polyvore:

You know the color wheel, blue and yellow match together.

You can tone down the look by wearing a black blazer.

I thought this one’s for a classy casual chic look. And notice how I chose colors that coordinate and match? I got that tip from my persistent reading of fashion blogs.

With a black-based pants, it’s good to go dark too with a hint of pastel for a feminine touch.
Are you all up for a ‘flower power’ look? :)
How did your Christmas go? I bet it was another moment to remember. As for mine, I think I’ll skip sharing except for the part where I will always be thankful for the blessings God has showered for the last eleven months.
On another note, can you sense the pun intended on my title? No? Well, my look for today is actually inspired by Miranda Kerr! hehe. If you read the latest flair icon post I made here, you’d see the first picture of Miranda effortlessly sporting a striped shirt and skinny jeans combo. I could have nailed the look if only I was as model thin as her! haha.

I actually wore this look (sans the heels, of course) to a night out with some high school friends. It’s been a while since I last spent time with them so I thought I should loosen up a bit just so I could see them again before Christmas.

It was fun while it lasted but if there’s one important lesson that I picked up that night, there is a great difference between happiness and joy. Can you tell the difference?

I added my sister’s native-made necklace for that little color and character boost.

I think I’m obsessed with jeggings now.

So how did you guys spend your Christmas? Are you excited for 2013? I sure am!

spend your last few days of 2012 wisely,

Before anything else, Merry Christmas everyone! Oh how time flies by so fast! In a few days, it’s going to be another new year. Wow! Can I just say God has been so good to us for the past months and I will forever be thankful for his never-ending love and grace. Wow. Just wow.
Anyway, today’s post is super backlogged but like they say, better late than never. Last December 2, Victory-Iligan gladly celebrated its first year anniversary and I’m so honored to be part of it! I’ve only been active last July but the feeling of being welcomed is just so refreshing. And because that day was special, I thought I should wear something nice.

The first time I saw this dress on one of the racks, I knew it was meant for me. Its dainty floral design lured me to purchasing it. I just love how this frock spells sweet and feminine with a touch of vintage.

And because I tend to play safe with how I dress up, I usually stick to one color palette. In this case, blue and pink are the dominant colors. My neck piece is also in the same color to safely blend with the entire look.

Give this look a HYPE here.

Here are some few snaps from the anniversary event:

“GPOY”. haha
The event was a real success and believe me, it was all for the glory of our Great and Almighty God. There might have been some few technical problems but it was overall a big victory (pun not intended, hehe). Everything was just amazing that day—-the praise and worship, the preaching, the prophecy and of course the people that came. God has graciously sustained Victory-Iligan for a year and I’m so excited for the greater things that are yet to come for the city! All the more because it’s almost 2013! Are you excited and ready? Let’s go and have fun in honoring God and making disciples!
I leave you this beautiful song which was part of the praise and worship line-up.

enjoy the holidays,

Merry Christmas everybody! Don’t forget, let’s celebrate for the right reason—-Jesus. Let’s spread more of love and definitely less of hate. Enjoy the holiday season with your family and loved ones! <3
Whilst it’s true that we should live while we’re young, we shouldn’t cut the sentence that follows after it, to remember that God will judge us in everything we do. But how will you live it? That choice you make will matter :)
Hola amiga! Como estas?
Well, I still can’t speak Mexican-Spanish but at least I’m pretty much alive after such a long blog hiatus! I’ve been busy, as always, but I’ve made up my mind. I’m going to be a better blogger (i hope) by starting with this trying hard Mexican outfit. But before that, if you’re wondering who Isabela is, then let me introduce to you my Mexican ego (i just made that up of course. I don’t have the slightest hint of Mexican personality in me except maybe my last name). But if I were to be given a Mexican-Spanish name, I’d like the name Isabela (just don’t add Swan). I’m not quite sure why but I guess because it sounds ala “donya”. haha. okay.

Anyway, this is what I wore during Victory-Iligan’s Leaders’ and Volunteers’ Appreciation Night with the theme Mexican Party. Well, sans the low-heeled T-strap shoes because I wanted to make sure I am able to go around as comfortably as I can. And yes, I’m wearing my DIY Mexican hat!

To be honest, if I wasn’t looking for a Mexican-themed dress, I wouldn’t even think of purchasing this one. But it was the closest that I could find at such a short period of time. But it’s not so bad after all. Still looks classy and definitely Mexican-ish thanks to the ruffled poncho design.

Okay, about the hat, I know it’s not as good as it looks but I have to admit that although a lot of things run in my mind, I am not an effective artsy person specifically in painting.

Com’on! Slack me off the disapproving looks. haha. That’s within my artistic capabilities. And besides, if it weren’t for the hat contest (of which I didn’t expect to win of course) then I would just have settled for the flower tucked behind the ear with Rosalinda ayamor, ayamor! peg (you sang to the tune didn’t you?).
Here are some few photos that took place last 30th of November:

My ate and I with our almost matching dresses.

With Pring2, Iligan’s very own human doll.

With Shanna, my childhood friend and the next miss universe, earth, Philippines, and all the pageants you could think of.

With the very beautiful Rosalindas, I mean, Ushering ministry girls. They did such a good job with their uniform costume.

That night was fun while it lasted. Can’t wait for next year! Hope I get to see you too!

adios y hasta la vista,

We’ve seen her on the runway wearing only Victoria’s Secret lingerie and a million-dollar wings. But when on the street, Miranda Kerr’s actually a flair icon to look up to. Although I’m not really a fan of her (or any of the VS models), I was quickly attracted to her sense of style. She’s an epitome of effortless chic. The picture below can attest to that. I mean, really, she’s just wearing a simple stripe shirt, skinny jeans, and red shoes, yet she exudes so much chicness.
